One Week Post-Op
Its been one week since Bar underwent a TPLO to repair his damaged left rear leg and his progress has been no less than astounding.
He continues to improve on a daily basis, and is now off the majority of medication he was on, aside from an anti-inflammatory drug which he will be on for the considerable future.
His stapled incisions have mended up quite nicely and although I’ve taken the cone off him for spirts of time during the day, he has not even really bothered with them and after Thursday’s appointment hopefully they will be taken out.
Bar is bored now during the day due to his relative lack of activity, and gets up often just to walk about, and I have started daily ROM exercises with him to get that leg moving.
His knee cracks from time to time when I move it, not sure why this is but it does not seem to bother him in the slightest.
This weekend he will graduate to 10 minute walks and I’m thinking I’ll take him over to my brother’s house so he can say hello to his aunt and uncle!
